Hi everyone. This is Pastor Tamera Kraft from Revival Fire for Kids with an Ignite Kidmin Podcast. Have you ever wondered why, when you pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you in student ministry, you still often feel drained. Stay tuned. Help is on the way.
For the next few weeks, I’m talking about Spirit-led leadership in Kidmin, but not just in Kidmin. These principles apply to all ministry.
Spirit-led Leader is saturated with the Holy Spirit (Peter)
Ephesians 5:18 (TPT) And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. (continually filled)
I have here a bucket. You may be wondering what a bucket has to do with spirit-led leadership. Let me tell you a story.
Bucket Principle is WRONG! Fill as you minister. Saturation Principle is Biblical.
Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
John 7:38 - He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
Peter learned to minister while saturated with the Holy Spirit. He was continually being filled. Out of filling, he was continually pouring out.
Acts 5:15-16
As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.
When he operated in the saturation principle, even his shadow was saturated with the Holy Spirit.
I’ll give practical advice how to stay saturated in the Holy Spirit in a moment. Now let’s get back to that practical advice on how to stay saturated in the Holy Spirit.
- Worship: Worship - to honor with extravagant love and extreme submission. (Webster 1828)
- Meditate on the Word of God: chew on
- Pray in tongues:
- Build Yourself Up: Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit.
- When you pray in tongues, you are praying as God wills.
- Rest in the Lord: Have you ever lay on the floor and soak in the Lord?
- Be filled with the Holy Spirit with Joy, Peace, Hope: Romans 15:13 - Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him,so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Joy: 1 Peter 2:8 Youhave not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice[s] with an indescribable and glorious Neh. 8:10 ... for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
- Peace: 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Hope: Isaiah 40:31 They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength they will soar on eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow wearywalk and not grow faint.
